The Art of a Woman Entrepreneur
March 15, 2021 / Blog
To own a business as a woman means to navigate a world largely ruled by men.
I’ve learned how to share my strengths, and maintain the integrity to be my own leader. Over the past three years while owning a business, I have grown and evolved tremendously. I have become more aware of the necessity to make my voice be heard.
I am lucky enough to be surrounded by a group of men and women who believe in me and my vision. I grew up in Vermont and most of my family lives nearby. My husband is not only my partner in business, but he is also my best friend. So, it feels like I’ve already stuck gold. Having a solid support system has given me the courage to pursue my dreams.
When you decide to take charge of your own career, you must be ready to face challenges, and you have to be open to altering the route to your destination – not once, but many, many times. In doing so, I’ve discovered a greater potential for both myself and my business. It’s a balance of practicing patience, taking action, and going with the flow.
If there was one word that I hold true to my heart as an entrepreneur, it would be persevere. I can’t tell you how many times I could have given up, thrown in the towel, or put my dreams to bed. But, I can tell you that I always choose to persevere, reinvent the wheel, and march on.
